About This Racer:
This racer was a teapot racer that was designed and put together entirely by Emma, for Portmeirion Steampunk Spectacular 2023.
That year, we had two brass teapots from the year before that, that we hadn’t put to use yet. Instead of using one and building it collaboratively like we did in 2022, we (Cerys and Emma) decided to build one each. Using the same parts, we each created a racer that ended up looking strikingly different from one another.
She has two motors, two motor drivers, one receiver, a battery, a fuse, a switch and its own controller assigned to it. The same chassis was used for both, and we edited them in ways that suited our needs. This racer looks sleek and futuristic, sporting an LED light bar as a spoiler, and two spotlights on the front. Most of her electronics are inside the pot, with some of them on display underneath her aluminium spoiler.
If you would like to read more about how we did on the day, and about this build, we have an article you can read HERE. We also have a time-lapse of us building both of them alongside each other, which you can view further down this page or by finding us on YouTube.
