About A.R.T.I 4

A.R.T.I 4 is the second of our twins (Happy Face) and the fourth in our A.R.T.I project. This robot designation would have been given to another robot had it not been for an eBay seller being superb about a part we ordered and that resulting in twins. We have written about that HERE. So this robot was never originally meant to be, but has turned out to be quite a surprising little machine. As she became the second of two twins, the first named Aneira (derived from Snow), this robot is named Eirlys, which means Snowdrop (y blodyn/the flower).

Firstly, just like her sister she is built on what seems like an unstable chassis. The perspex cracks if she is not treated correctly and will likely break at some point as she drives head long into unseen obstacles (oh the irony). She is also using, because they are twins, the L298N Dual H Bridge motor driver, something we were not initially sure would run four motors. It does though, and it does it well!

She is however, because she is 4WD; very stable, very smooth and she sets off very quickly. She also seems to have a cheerful disposition, which does not diminish her sister of course, but does add an essence of interactability that her sister does not seem to have. She seems to be ‘Happy’.

Our A.R.T.I Robots are not kits. They all use different bought chassis, but they are then built from scratch, by us.
