About A.R.T.I 3
A.R.T.I 3 is the first of our Twin Robots (Sad Face). We have an article explaining in a little bit more detail about the robot HERE, however we did only intend to build one robot on this chassis type, using this sensor holder. As it turned out, we now have two, ‘almost’ identical twin robots. This robot was named Aneira, with the intention of it meaning ‘Snow’, because of the crystal clear perspex of the body.
These robots are suprisingly sturdy. We were initially concerned about the chassis as the motors are held on dubiously with little tabs of perspex. We were also not sure if the motor driver (L298N Dual H Bridge), would handle four motors either, so we did a bit more prototyping than we have for the previous two. It turns out, it handles four motors beautifully.
The robot is extremely capable, very smooth and while it makes decisions a little late due to its speed (and may need slowing down like A.R.T.I 2), it sets off with purpose; smoothly and quickly. We are very fond of this little bot.
Our A.R.T.I Robots are not kits. They all use different bought chassis, but they are then built from scratch, by us.
